Making male cards can be a challenge. Romantic and frilly is not what comes to mind when you first think of. Don´t let that scare you off - the use of soft muted colors together with flowers and metal, wood and leather embellishments is perfect for a more masculine card. I made these for Father´s Day using products from Canvas Corp Brands - the cards are also published in their blog.
This card was made by using patterned paper a from 7 Gypsies "American Vintage" together fall colored flowers, metals and cut out details.
The cool hat from Haunt it "Halloween Masks" and the feathers from "Chocolate and Ivory Large Feathers" bring extra dimension and interest to the card. Metal embellishments are a must have on a masculine card.
Fall colors works really well for a card of for a male friend or a relative. The Haunt It might be for Halloween but works really, really well for other projects as well. As on this card The Orange & Black Stitched Diamonds paper and the cut out man from the Halloween Costume paper.
Flowers give the card a festive feeling.

Canvas Corp Brands Collaborate with Petaloo this month and I was happy to be chosen to work with some of their DIY paintable flowers. I made a set two Christmas Cards using papers from Canvas Home Basics "Jolly Christmas" and "Farmhouse Christmas".
This card has cut outs & paper strips from the Farmhouse Christmas Collection. The flowers has a base from a piece of Cheese cloth that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist to color it red.
I colored two of the Petaloo floweres the same way. The green leaves are actually petals I cut from a bigger flower and colored with green mist.
This card was made by combining a leftovers from 7Gypsies and Canvas Home Basic papers with cut outs and papers from the Jolly Christmas Collection. Curious on how I made it? Look down below for a process video.
I choose to paint a couple of the flowers with a brush dipped in mist and water at this card. The cut out wreath was painted with Glimmer Mists as well.
Gotta love this flower from Petaloo. Need to buy more of these....

Hi everyone. Today I´m sharing a resent Art Journal I made for the online store En Liten Butik. This was a really fast and easy page, but the result looks more worked on that it really is.
After preparing my page with white gesso I randomly applied color by using water color pencils, then I soaked the page in water using a really, really wet, clean brush. After a bit of drying time I stamped with a text stamp & splattered on Glimmer Mist. And applied the cut out vintage Ladies with Gel Medium.
I stamped on their wings and the sentiment. The wings got a bit of Metallic Actylic paint to really give them a cool look.

Sometimes the most unexpected products can turn into something really great. This Burlap Flower as turned into a wall hanging with the help of patterned paper, chipboard, flowers and a couple of metal embellishments.
The Kraft Santa cut out from the 12x12 paper Farmhouse Christmas Patchwork on Kraft give the hanging a holiday feeling. Kraft flowers painted with Glimmer Mist create a 3D effect on the project. A delicate organza ribbon add a bit of luxury.
Add a little bit of sparkle by painting metals and die-but branches with Glimmer Glaze. Colored pearls finish the project off.
