New Beginning ATC´s {MMP Crative Gym}

I´m showing you four ATC cards that I made for the current Creative Gym Challenge at the Mixed Media Place. As it is a new year - new beginnings is a perfect name for a January-February Challenge. For to be honest - how many of you haven´t though of starting on something new in the new year?

For me a new beginning is someting to strive against. What I mean is that if you reach your set up goal, then you need to find a new one - to start something new - and then keep working against that goal. Otherwise your development will stop. I belive that there is always something that can push you further, and that "thing" makes you a better person and evolve you.

I made these cards by stamping on the card with a red stamping ink and a new stamp from IndigoBlu called Teeny Backgrounds. Then I added modeling paste through a stencil, colored randomly with Inktense blocks and a water brush. I scribbled the sentiment on a small piece of tape and sticked it to the cards.

You will find your way to the Creative Gym Challenge by clicking on the picture below.

I have used products from IndigoBlu (stamps), Finnabair for Prima Marketing (stencil) and Derwent (Inktense Blocks), Pebeo (Modeling paste).

Torn Angel - Berry71Bleu Design Team

This project was really a bit adventure and experiment. I was inspiered by the colors, textures and history in this months challenge at Berry71Bleu and wanted to replicate this in an unexpected way. When I found my doughters plastic dressform the experiment started (she was a bit sad that I took it, but was full of joy when she got it back looking a tiny bit different...).

I built up the "dress" by layering acrylic paints from IndigoBlu in differnt color (gold, silver, white & copper) with tissue paper that I got from my local Flower shop. By wrinkeling the paper and "brushing" it on with paint I got it to stick and the colors and layers to blend.

I added more texture by using glass glitter that I painted with Glimmer Glam (Golden Goddess) and sprayed with Glimmer Mist (Precious Metal).

Don´t you just love the crackled gold/copper effect on the wings? I painted the chipboard with matte actylics from IndigoBlu, then stamped with FlitterGlu and a Finnabair stamp. The golden/copper comes from MegaFlakes (you can watch a video about how to use it here).

Well I must say I love how this adventure ended! I hope you find the challenge picture as inpiering as I did!

Thank you for visiting today.

I have used products from IndigoBlu (acrylics, Mega Flakes, Flitter Glu), Tattered Angels (GlimmerMist & Glimmer Glam), Finnabair for Prima Marketing (Glass Glitter, stamp), Sa Crafters (Wings).

Carthography Love Canvas - IndigoBlu Design Team

Today we are entering the moth of love. February is also the Heart Disease awarness month in many countries around the world. Since I work as a nurse specialiced in Heart Intensive Care  I wanted to celebrate February by making a canvas for IndigoBlu with a heart in focus.

I have used a chunky canvas that I first painted with white GeeSso Good Gesso and then covered with strips of a paper from the Carthography Mixed Media Card Stack.

I cut out a heart by hand from a piece of white cardstock, painted it with Postbox Red Acrylics and then before the paint was dry I applied Black GeeSso Good Gesso - the end result was a brown-red almost rust like finish.

The pattern was made by using Mega Flakes (Eaton Mess) and the new texture stamp from the Teeny Background stamp set. The alphas was painted with Metallic Acrylics in a copper shade and then when dry I just dabbed some Flitter Glu on and applied Mega Flakes. Love how they turned out!

I dabbed glu and added flakes on the edges of the canvas as well.

Hope I could inspire you today!
This post is also live in the IndigoBlu blog!

Inspire ATC´s

I´m showing some ATC cards that I made for a swap today. They are really simply made - white cardstock base with layers of inks, an embossed stamp image, stamping and the always nessesary paint splatters.

I used plain thickstock from Canvas Corp that I cut out my cards from. Then applied white GeeSso good Gesso to get a good base before applying acrylics and inks.

The embossed flower is called "Color me Peony" and will be awailable druing the upcoming weeks. The text stamp comes from the Sarah´s Choise A5 stamp set. All stamps from IndigoBlu.

I hope thse cards be a join for the reciever and that they soon will land in someones postbox.

I have used products from IndigoBlu (Acrylics "Park Lane", stamps), Tattered Angels (Glimmer Mist "It´s Black", "Dragonfly"). Zing Embossing Powder (Teal).

Product Favorites

I want to share my favorite craft products with you today. Using products that I really love is essential - otherwise your creativity will take a break. I´m not that person that necessarily use new stuff - I have things I bought years ago that still are the ones I use most. And I don´t think I am "trendy" - I use what appeals to me - that´s it! I don´t care if it is something that is "popular" or not - if I like them - I like them so to speak.

I have divided this post in 3 parts - basics, inks and all the other stuff.

Basics

I can´t live without Gesso! I have 3 yars of gesso that I use daily.

This gesso is thin. It´s perfect to mix with water to get a almost clear gesso. And it is perfect to paint with.

This gesso is perfect to cover and paint with. It dries matte, almost like chalkboard.

I love that this is thick. I use it to mix with inks, to cover mistakes and to add dimension by adding it trough a stencil.

Easy to apply. Lasts forever. I bought my 3 years ago and still have more than half left!

Works for pretty much everything ...

For adding flowers, metal, chipboard etc. I have a small.

Inks

Spray inks
I love everyone from Tattered Angels. Glimmer Mists is translucent with a touch of glimmer. Baseboard is semi-opaque with out glimmer. Chalkboard is semi-opaque with glimmer. Simply Sheer is like glimmer mist without the glimmer.

Acrylic Paints
I use them to paint, cover, mixed with water to splatter, mixed with water to get a thin layer of paint. I love the English Cottage Paints from IndigoBlu - comes in both Metallic and Matte finish.

Paints to highlight
I use them to highlight or get a textured surface. Tattered Angels has several really good. High Impact is like acryics on steroids, sticks to EVERYTHING and comes both in matte and metallic. Glimmer Glam is sheer tinted with chunky glitter in it. It sticks to anything and dries all shiny and gorgeous. Glimmer Glaze is like a nail polish - a top coat that dries with a metallic finish.

Water solvable inks

Other Stuff

Papers

Embellishments
This might be the favourite part... I use chipboards from Scrapiniec & 2 Crafty chipboard, Flair from UmWowStudio and A Flair for Buttons, Flowers from Prima Marketing, Petaloo International, 13@rts and Wild Orchid Crafts.

Extras
There is some things that gives my projects that extra - Mega Flakes and Glitter from IndigoBlu. Mega Flakes are is a gilding flake that you use with a special glue to add extra shine to your products.

Stencils
My favourites comes from Prima Marketing, IndigoBlu and TCW. I use both 12x12 and 6x6 and apply gesso, modeling paste, paints, stampin ink etc through them.
