Happy with a box - 7 Dots Studio Design Team

You know sometimes you have a vision. Mine often comes in the middle of the night, often after an evening of a lot of rushed work. This project was one of those – I had a vision of a box with a poppy on top of it.

I had a small paper box that my mother in law gave me that worked really well for this  project for 7 Dots Studio. First of all I painted all the edges with Acrylics, and then I cut to size two pieces of paper from “Mint Julep” (Cotton Candy Dreams Collection), one strip and one circle. The strip was glued to the side of the box and the circle on top of the lid.

The fun part is always to embellish, I think. I found this great big poppy in one of my cabinets (It´s actually a piece of home decor… ), and applied it to the lid with hot glue. Then I took two round elements from the Cotton Candy Dreams – Die-cut Elements and placed them on the lid with a pebble stone on top of it. I love the dimensional effect of that. I also added some a couple of gem stones.

To give the box some sort of message I added a “Happy” sentiment and a word stickers on to a tag, and then wrinkled the tag a bit before applying it to the lid.

A small amount of Glimmer Mist Splatters and a touch of the same mist on the edges of the Poppy finished off the box nicely.

Love Cards - 7 Dots Studio Design Team

We all need a little bit of love and care, don´t you think. That is the topic of this month´s challenge at 7 Dots Studio. I hope you will join us! I made these cards inspired by the challenge. This is the inspiration cicle.

I did not want my cards to have the typical reds this year. Instead I used patterned papers from 7 Dots Studio that have quite muted colors. I added a bit of pink sparkle with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

My new addiction is Finnabair Art Ingridients Melange Pebbles. I just love the idea of adding a sticker underneath it to create a dimension. Here I used stickers from 7 Dots Studio Homegrown. I alos added some pink details with die cuts from the same collection.

Happy Card - Words & Paintery Creative Team

We have a new challenge up at the Words & Paintery blog - gorgeous spring colors and a quote that fit any of us crafters. I made this card using beautiful spring colored patterned papers from Green Cat Story, Chippies from Scrap FX and mists & paints from Tattered Angels.

I layered the different patterned papers and added a bit of white gesso. Then applied Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Black Cherry", "Dragonfly" and "Eclectic Blue" both with a brush and splatters.  When dry I added the Scrap FX chipboard (painted with white High Impact paint from Tattered Angels), flowers, micro beads, and pebble stones.

I´m looking forward to see your entry for this challenge - please visit here for details on how to enter and to view the teams great projects.

& Together Art Journal - MTW Challenge

I found the new Challenge at More than Words really inspiring and decided to try on a Art Journal - something I do not do that often. The word together really inspired me to create something that show the friendship that I have found with this hobby. Trough the years I have become close friends with crafters from all over the world and that is something I treasure a lot.

For me the ampersand symbolize that things can turn out unexpected - like there is an and as ending to many situations - "My car did not start - and now I can take the environmental friendly bike instead" or "It rains outside, what a bad luck, and now I have to stay inside crafting instead of going to work". Well, you get what I mean...

I dug in among my leftovers and started to play with the things I found. This sweet flower is actually a piece from a table cloth... Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Chalkboard Mists & Baseboard Mists give the spread the perfect sparkle.

This vintage picture is really sweet I think.
