My Beautiful Butterfly

Today I´m sharing my latest layout with my beautiful little missy on. I made this page with inspiration from the March Challenges at More than Words & Mixed Media & Art (inspirational boards below).

I used a white cardstock from Canvas Corp as my base. After basing it with white gesso I applied water and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the colors Capri Blue, Icicle Blue, Jack Frost & Navy Blue

A bit of cluster in the middle of the paint with layers of patterned papers (Royal Blue Patchwork from Canvas Corp). vintage lace and the butterfly and wire chipboards from Scrap FX. I love the butterfly - it symbolic to me - my little missy has wings - she is like a fairy and she will take of the conquer the world as she grows up.

I also added a word chipboard from Scrap FX. And don´t you just love the adorable shoes? They come from 7gypsies new collection Architextures. This one comes from the set called Trinklets - Mary Janes. If you have not checked out this collection you must! There are books, papers, dimensional stickers, rubons etc. etc.

I have entered the layout here:

Dream Art Journal - 7 Dots Studio Design Team

Today I´m sharing my latest project for the 7 Dots Studio Design Team - a Art Journal page. Lately I have discovered Art Journaling. I find it to be fun and it lets me improve my skills. The Art Journal guru´s among the rest of the 7 Dots Studio team inspired me greatly. I used products from the Writer´s Block Collection, Cotton Candy Dreams & Fortune Teller collections on this spread.

Strips of papers, stickers, die-cut elements and word stickers works perfectly for an Art Journal spread. I just added them in layers, splattered/painted on some Tattered Angels Mists and then applied a piece of tread and chipboard.

I used some leftovers from a previous project I made. I accidentally turned the paper the wrong side when cutting them out but nothing goes to the bin – I love recycling.

I love the lady from the Fortune Teller “Soul” paper. She fits perfectly!

Thank you for the visit today!

The Lady on the Shelf - 7 Dots Studio Design Team

Today I want to share a really fun project I did for the new challenge at 7 Dots Studio - Altered Art "Beyond the page".

I made this little tin "lady" from a small metal candy box. I painted it with matte acrylic paint and then covered the inside with patterned paper - Cotton Candy Dreams "Pucker up".  I cut out the little lady from a printable image and applied her to the back of the box. Then on the top I used a die cut speach bubble from the Cotton Candy Dreams Die cut sheet together with the words stickers.

I think she turned out pretty cool, don´t you think?

Now please head over to the 7 Dots Studio blog and look at the stunning projects from the rest of the team!

Steampunk Hangings - Scrap FX Design Team

I´m here today to share an idea for an alternative use for your Scrap FX Chipboards. I really love the Fob Watch Butterfly & the Steampunk Seahorse but had trouble finding the perfect project for them. Then I came up with the idea of just hanging them up in a string in the window.

Well, I did not actually “just” hang them in the window. As a true crafter I had to do a little “job” on them first. A couple of layers of Tattered Angels High Impact metallic paint, crackle paste & gem stones add that extra flair to the hangings.

I painted the butterfly by using my finger tip. I find using a brush is difficult since the paint will find it´s way into all the delicate gaps in the chipboard and clog them up. The finger works perfect (If you don´t care that you go to work looking like a painter the day after…).

The sea horse has two “layers” of chipboard. I painted the smoothe horse with blue paint and then added crackle paste and left to dry over night. When safely dry I added the gear “top” that I first painted with gold & copper paint. I used the same “finger” technique this time. The gem stones looks perfect as eyes, and I love the fine, fine detailing on the seahorse.

I hope I inspired you to try different ways of using your Scrap FX Chipboards. I will surely do this again, loved the result!

I used the "Mint Julep" paper together with the tags, stickers, and die cut elements from the same collection. The coordinating flair from UmWow Studio is just perfect for this project. Splatters with Tattered Angels Mist add extra interest. Want to know how the card was made - scroll down for process video.
