Art Journal "Feathers" - Scrap FX Design Team

I`m here today with a new page in my Scrap FX Art Journal. I love where this journey is taking me – when I made my first Art Journal spread for this blog my intention was not to create a Journal dedicated to Scrap FX. BUT I love exploring the products the brand offers, and I love playing with the stamps & stencils so this journal has become dedicated to this blog and a tradition as my first of the moth post in the Scrap FX blog. I picked the bold color range from the current challenge at Mixed Media Place (see below).

This October I have been playing with these products: Feather B Chipboard, Fancy Feathers , Silhouette Small, Scribble Script stencil, Circle Weave stencil

I used different bright colored acrylics from Tattered Angels as base for my pages. I added the paints randomly with a broad flat brush and then dried it with a heater. I was really keen to see how the Circle Weave stencil would turn out. I decided to use black chalkboard mist from Tattered Angels to figure it out. The effect turned our really cool. The pattern in combination with the bright acrylics looks like a Oriental rug.

I also added more texture & contrast with white gesso that I applied through the Scribble Script stencil. The white letters really pop against the colorful background. I added the black chipboard feather for even more dimension and the black silhouette feathers tie really well in with the theme.

I really love how this spread turned out and can´t wait until next month when I get the chance to continue my journey in this Scrap FX Art Journal (as I nowdays call it…).

I also entered this spread to the September Challenge with Mixed Media Place.

Thanks for stopping by today!

"Deer Dome" - "Crystal Beauty" - Joint project "Creative Art"

Today this post is about Mixed Media & Arts Joint Project "Creative Art".

Today our second stage is dedicated to transparent elements! Here we again give freedom to your inner artist and offer to play with transparent non-scrap materials. It can be glass, acrylic, and bottles ... The main thing is to look for materials among ordinary things. You can add other transparent elements, just one of them will not be from the scrap store All the rest in any materials and in any form. In your work there should be ONE transparent element NOT from scrapbooking and one more obligatory element of this stage is CIRCLES. It can be in any form and from any materials. You can make any project and any format.

This was a really interesting and hard task for me but I really love a challenge. I went to my local Flea Market to search for items and found glass that would work perfect as the transparent element. Now to the circles - that was not an easy thing - but I imagined that instead of circled I could use circular shapes. For this I found an old candle holder with a circular base and some other odd items with circular shapes. I also realized that the foot of the glass was a circle... Sometimes you really have to think outside the box and step out of your comfort zone when creating. This is what I did with my Flea Market findings :

Please Watch my video tutorial on how this piece was crated.

I hope you will join us for this fun event!

Winter is Coming - Kraft+ Guest Designer

Hi there crafty souls! I was asked to join Kraft+ Challenges as their International Guest Designer this October and today I share my layout inspiered by the challenge "I can see clearly now". This challenge is all about Kraft + something "clear" (see trough).

This layout is really a result from one of those "it" moments when you just get a creative idea in your head and can´t let it go. I was laying in bed one night and it just came to me how I was going to tackle this challenge....

I picked one of the wonderful patterned Kraft papers from Canvas Corp - this one is called White & Kraft Lace and is one of my all time favorites.

A piece of Canvas Corps E-flute corrugated Kraft paper form the base of my cluster together with vintage lace and flowers. I chose to die cut out leaves from vellum paper as parts of my clear trough details. I also added clear pebbles with clear acrylic decorations underneath and then a clear tab with the sentiment texted on it.

As Scrap FX is one of the sponsors of this challenge I added a couple of their chipboards to the design as well. The Steampunk Key fit perfect to the picture with Deanarys from Game of Thrones. I also added the Barbwire Border from Scrap FX. All of the chipboard was sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Precious Metal". I also added splatters with the same mist over the page.

I must say this in on of the layouts I am most happy with at the moment. I pretty much love it and hope you will do to!

Thank you for stepping by today!

Love this Kid Art Journal - Scrap FX Design Team

The exploring combinations of paint, textures & Scrap FX products continues in my Art Journal today. This spread was made using both a stencil & several pieces of chipboard from Scrap FX. The small size journal from 7gypsies is perfect for this kind of project.

The Cool Circles Stencil form the base of this spread together with different mists from Tattered Angels. I simply applied Modeling paste trough the stencil, dried and applied layers of mists & water. When dry I added the chipboard that where embossed to get a grungy and colorful style.

Several colors of embossing powder makes the Love this Kid Wordlet look really cool. And the 13th & Brave etc mini looks pretty cool in other colors. They really pop I think.

I used these products from Scrap FX:
  • 2017306 Love this Kid
  • 2017304 Brave Etc Mini
  • 2016339 Cool circle stencil
  • 2016333-13 13th Mini

Other products from Tattered Angels, 7gypsies, Wow Embossing, Prima Marketing, Keisercraft.

Thank you for your visit today!
