Seize the Day Canvas Piece - Mixed Media & Art Design Team

Hi Crafty Souls!

I´m here today to inspire you with this canvas art piece I made for the June moodboard at Mixed Media & Art.

I belive the "Emotional Ourburst" moodboard has perfect colors for a summer project - bold, bright and sparkling. I love all the details & textures in it!

I ended up creating this piece about my friend and her daughter. My friend got married a two summers ago, and I was asked to be the wedding photographer. I caught this moment on camera - a really precious one - between the teenage daughter and her soon to be wed mother. This was before the wedding, and the air was swooning with emotions. The wedding was a secret to everyone (we thought we was about to celebrate my friend turning 40 yo), and the family was excited to been able to fool everyone.

I love how the brand new paper collection designed by Aga Baraniak for Canvas Corp turned out as background. I painted the flowers with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (they work really well as watercolors since they are water based). You can find a list of products used at the end of this post.

I cut out a moth from a patterned paper and added it together with a sentiment from 7 Dots Studio. A piece of colored burlap (Canvas Corp) make the piece really pop!

I´m really excited to see your creations inspired by this challenge.

Thank you for stepping by today!

Blowing the Wind Tag - MMP Challenge & Canvas Corp Brands Design Team

Hi there sweet followers. I´m here today to show you a tag I made for the January Challenge at Mixed Media Place using the new Architextures from 7gypises. This month challenge moodboard is white, teal, brown, blue - and I loved the quote - the text on my tag could be the sentence to follow (you will find the moodboard in the bottom of this post).

Have you heard about the Architextures? If not - this is something you really MUST check out!

Architextures™ is making everything old, new again by bringing to life realistic representations of vintage finds, salvage yard discoveries and objects we love. 7gypsies was the first to bring vintage crafts to the forefront of the creative market and today the gypsies bring their love of vintage markets, junkyard finds and attic treasures to a new place. Our patented technologies, unique material combinations and attention to detail right down to the packaging make this collection of cleverly designed products that offer a variety of textures, details and adornments perfect for your every creative need. While the collection has a distinctive vintage look, it transcends across many creative styles with a classic, nostalgic appeal.

The name Architextures™ was derived by bringing together the elements we find in architectures both new and old and a variety of textures that we just cannot live without. Each item in the Architextures™ collection resembles the uniqueness, the texture and the dimension of nostalgic objects as they are in reality. While some are shiny and metallic, others are soft and have a natural feel.

Architextures™ is a collection built just like the structures of a building.

I have used the Metal Fan from the Architextures™ Trinkets, Findings and Treasures togheter with a Prima Flower, 7gypsies metal gears, and gemstones from Maremi´s Small Art.
To get a good base for my Glimmer Mists I used Finnabair Heavy White Gesso and Clear Crackle paste. By adding the Gesso in thick layers using a spatula I got a structured background.
This vintage metal fan actual looks like the heavy fans of the past. The embellishment pieces can be removed to allow the fan cage to be open. The metal-like rustic finish gives the embellishment a realistic look.   Love how it turned out.
You will find the MMP Challenge here.

Thank you for stepping by today!

Best Wishes with a Spoon - Scrap FX Design Team

Sometimes creativity just hits you hard - like for this projects I made for my second post for the Scrap FX Design Team this month. I have had this spoon laying around on my desk forever and suddenly I came up with an idea on how to use it. Just recently, a new fancy restaurant opened in our little village. I´m so happy with it and with my 3 visits in a row the same week, you could pretty much call me obsessed. Sitting there with the envelope with my newely received Scrap FX products in front of me, my eyes fell on the spoon - and the project plan began to take shape. I figured out that I wanted to make a gift for the restaurant - sort of new birth gift - with a matching tag to go with it. This is how it ended up.

Both the spoon and the tag where covered with High Impact paint from Tattered Angels. After drying I added crackle paste mixed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to get a textured and worn effect.

I added a home made rust paste (mix heavy gesso, glimmer mist and Finnabair texture powder to a thick paste) on the chipboard and on the edges of both the tag and the spoon. Then some glass beads, a flower and micro beads fore even more texture. The word chipboard got a two coats of High Impact Paint and a touch of Glimmer Glam for an extra wow factor.

Power tools ATC´s & Family Layout - Scrap FX Design Team

I’m here today to share my two late August projects for Scrap FX – a ATC card set and a layout. I have used these new products;Power Tools, Relatives Team Pack, Family Memories & the Brick Stencil. I also made a short video on how the ATC´s were made.

My second project is a layout with one of my favorite photos ever. The picture of our family was a gift to my partners father for his 70th Birthday and taken by one of my friends who is an adventure photographer – Andreas Strand. A smaller version of the picture fits perfect for these new chipboards from Scrap FX.

I have been working with the Brick Stencil and embossing powder on the background. Different Tattered Angels Mists added as splatters (of course). I chose not to paint the Family Memories & Relative Chipboards. The natural color make them pop, and I´m not sure that paint should have made them look as good as all natural.

I have used  products from Scrap FX, Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp Brands, 7 Dots Studio, UmWowStudio, Maremis Small Art

Thank you for your visit today!

I would love if you leave me a comment on Youtube, follow my channel or just give a thumbs up!

Colorful jewelry - IndigoBlu Design Team

I must admit - jewelry making has never been something I intended to stat with. I knit, I scrap, I read, I go to the gym - well time is limited. THEN I got the Diamond Resin in my Design Team parcel from IndigoBlu and I had to change my mind about the whole jewelry making business. This is SO fun! And the possibilites are so many - you can use patterned papers, stamped images, metal pieces, glitter, well maybe even dead insects?

I have used stamped images that I painted with IndigoBlu Acrylics for all of the prezels I show you today. The ones above was and the one below was cut out from one of stamped images from the Boadieca A5 Stamp set (the bottom stamp). I used pink, lime green and yellow acrylics. As you can see I have applied some sparkle on one of the items - Finnabair Glass Glitter "Crimson Red" - also available in the IndigoBlu shop.

I have added a small word stickers on top of my stamped image on two of my pretzels before I covered them with Diamond Resin.

On this one I have combined yellows & greens on the butterfly from the Floral Fantasy A5 stamp set.

I hope I could inspire you to make some jewelry. The Diamond Resin is really easy to use so I really recommend you try it our!

The upcoming "After Morris"  Mixed Media Papers (patterned papers) from IndigoBlu are really so cute. I love the vintage but not to romantic feeling. And they work SO well for a mixed media style card. Jenny - our Design Team Coordinatior at IndigoBlu asked if I could do a tutorial on how to make one of my as she called them "fancy" cards - an off course I could;

I love all the quotes from the More then Words stamp set. And the new Tasty Textures stamps works perfect for backgrounds.

IndigoBlu Acrylics work both for splatters and painting flowers!
