Going natural with a card

Once in a while it happens. That I make a card with lack of color that is. And I kind of like doing it. Sometimes I create monochromatic white or beige scrapbook pages as well. I believe that it is good for my creativity that I step out of my comfort zone once in a while. Do you ever do that? Challenge yourself with something you never would think you will pull of. Or with something you are afraid of maybe?

The reason behind this beige card is a challenge I found via Jenni Bowlin´s Inspirational blog. They have teamed up with The Play Date Cafe for this challenge. Since I had these lovely papers from the Modern Mercantile line I thought, why not.

The card is really simply made. Just a white cardstock base, with a piece of patterned paper on top. The butterfly is cut out of another patterned paper and then I gave it a little twist by wrapping cord around the center. Since my daughter turns five in a couple of weeks I put a card with the number 5 on there as well.

Material used: Patterned paper; Jenni Bowlin Modern Mercantile (Melange & for the butterfly Paraphernalia). Cardstock from American Crafts. Embellishments; Jenni Bowlin Stick Pint (Pewter). Jenni Bowlin Vintage Number Card. Cord from my stash.

Pretty neutral card! Love the butterfly with the twine. Thanks for playing at The Play Date Cafe.
