Shape of my heart

I made this canvas for the Summer Music Challenge at the Mixed Media Place Blog. The song by Sting is one of my all time favourites. So this is what my heart looks like in my mind. A bit unsymetric and with a bit of sharp edges.

The base is actually a piece of cardboard from a box with crafts supplies. It was covered in gesso at first. After drying I added Art Extravagance Texture Paste in White Sand trough a heart shaped stencil. When dry I litterly pored different red & pink colored mists over the background. Sprayed water over and then sprinkled 3 shades of embossing powder. The effect when you dry embossing powder mixed with wet ink is really cool.

I added a bit of stamping and more embossing before I "made" the heart by 3 pices of heart shaped cardstock. The curly stuff sticking out is packing material from the same box as the background was made of. Metal wire from the local flower shop.

Material used: Gesso, Prima Art Extravagance Texture Paint White Sand. Dylusions Ink Spray Postbox Red & Bubbelbum Pink. Maya Road Spray Mist in red. Wow Embossing Powder. Permanent black stamp ink. Stamps Kasia Krzymińska for Scrapbook Diaries.
