Steampunk Dragonfly - Scrap FX Design Team

I´m here today to show you my second post project for Scrap FX this our Steampunk January. You must know by now that I am a big fan of quick and easy projects that looks like they took a week to do but honestly only took less than an hour, right (phew – long sentence)? Well this time I made a canvas with just one piece of chipboard and 6 other “ingredients”! The decision to make such an “easy” project was really the chipboard itself. I found the Steampunk Dragonfly chipboard so beautiful that I really wanted to create something that made it stand on it´s own.

And how did I do this then? Well – first of all I mixed black matte gesso (ingredient 1) with crackle paste (ingredient 2), then painted it on the 6×6 canvas. Before drying I sprayed on Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Guilded Gold” (ingredient 3). Adding paint, mist or paste along the cracking process (dry – add mist – dry add mist etc) create a really cool effect that reminds a bit of stone, or a dragons egg. I sprayed the Dragonfly with the same Glimmer Mists as the canvas – Tattered Angels “Guilded Gold”, “Dragonfly” (ingredient 4), “Dazzling Diamnonds” (ingredient 5) and “Dried Lavendar” (ingredient 6), as I used on the background.

The rough surface make the delicate chipboard piece really stand out I think and I am really pleased with the result.
