I´m showing you a layout made for the current challenge at Mixed Media Place - Creative Gym Exercise #13 . The challenge holds a quote "Today is the Day", but I have chosen not to use the direct quote on my page. Instead I thought of the titel "Priority" as an extension of the quote. My kids is the most important thing to me and they are my top priority every day. But it is easy to treat them alike, to think of them as "the kids" even though they are two (in my case) different characters with quite different needs and of different age and progress. Therfore I try to give them a special day as often I can. A individual day - just one of them and me - that day they are in top priority.
I loved the gold sparkle, the watercolor effect and the grey/blue colors in the inspiration picture. The choice of background color could seam a bit bold and darish but I really wanted to highlight the photo and the sparkly colors and gem stones. The colors in the page differ quite a bit from the origin but the whole watercolor and sparkle effect is just what I wanted to pick up from the challenge board.
I mixed grey and silver acrylics with a bit of water and painted that on my surface. On top of that I splattered Glimmer Mists in colors that coordinate with the photo of my son. Superfine glitter add extra sparkle.
At first I just added golden gem stones, but added more colors to give the page extra interest.
The colors also fit perfect for the new Paper Dvizhnik Challenge!
Thank you for stepping by today!
